Barcelona chair was exclusively designed for the German Pavilion, Germany's exhibition for the Barcelona World Fair of 1929. The design resulted from collaboration between the famous Bauhaus architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and his longtime partner and companion, architect and designer Lilly Reich, whose contributions have only recently been acknowledged An icon of modernism, the Barcelona chair's design was inspired by the campaign and folding chairs of ancient times. The Barcelona chair is a classic which fits in contemporary as well as ultra model design.

• Upholstery: Italian top-grain semi-aniline leather on ALL sides, incl. back. To create the deep, precise tufting, each panels of leather is carefully selected, hand cut, hand piped, hand tufted and individually sewn by master leather craftsmen.
• Cushions: High-resiliency urethane foam with Dacron wrap, to provide you with the proper amount of plush comfort and firm support for generations of durability.Leather piping and leather covered buttons of correct proportions
• Frame: Premium 12mm massive stainless steel (#304) that will ensure durability. Mirror-like polished.
• The x-frame: It is precisly welded together by 3 pieces then polished to a sleek finish - welding marks are invisible to make one solid piece.
